20{ish} Favorite Photos Challenge

I'll bet you didn't know that I am an incessant youtube stalker of my favorite photographers. While watching one adequately stalked photographer, he offered this challenge: "Find your 20 most favorite photos, study them and figure out why you love them.  I challenge yourself to find yourself in your photographs."  Well I did that, naturally unable to keep it to 20, but I did that.  These are the photos I didn't even have to look for, I took them years and years ago and still they were fresh in my mind, the ones I thought of immediately.  And what I found was that I love a photo that stirs emotion.  These are the ones that were, for the most part, unplanned, sporadic. The ones that make you think, what is happening around this person, what is this scene all about?  I don't like an "easy" photo, but instead one that some people may not even "get".  Then I decided that to really challenge myself I would share these photos with the world {or whoever takes the time to look at them}.  Because honestly, putting myself out there is what I struggle with the most, something I try hard to work on every single day.  Every photo I post online, on Instagram, or Facebook is a 15 minute to 3 day back and forth with myself about who might not like it and why and what should be different, but at the end of the day if I love it, I try to share it.  So I am going to share these, because I love capturing the emotion, but I also love the thought of other people feeling that emotion, especially since you may not know the people in the photos {there are some that I didn't even know the people} or know the situation.  Hopefully it makes you feel something.  And I can honestly say, if you take the time to really look at them, at what is going on in each photograph, I do believe you will get to know me a little better. I guess that was the point of the exercise. Now, I do have to say, these are NOT GOOD photos.  They are terrible, I know.  Most were taken with my iPhone, some were done on the Hipstamatic App! (haha anyone remember that??) yes, theres even a selfie.  BUT. The challenge was not your favorite photos ever taken with your expensive camera and perfect lighting.  So sorry for the grittiness, but I hope you feel some love.
